BRYAN – Carter Luce drew a two-out walk in the bottom of the seventh and would come around and score the winning run on a Cam Bukowski RBI double as the Bryan Golden Bears defeated the Tinora Rams 4-3 on Friday night at Sumpter Field.
The Rams, playing their seventh game in nine days, struck for two runs in the first inning off Bryan starter Quinn Green. Ryan Mills would start the game with a single to center. Ayden Moser would lay down a sac bunt, moving Mills to second. Owen Reynolds would follow with an RBI single, giving the Rams a 1-0 lead. Parker Hancock would follow with the first of hi tree straight doubles, plating Reynolds for a 2-0 Tinora lead.
Bryan would knot the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the second. Jacob Uran and Cole Carlin would each draw one out walks off Tinora starter Allan Burchfield. Both runners would move up on a passed ball. Cade Carlin would single, scoring Uran. Carlin would score on the same play on a Tinora outfield error.
The Golden Bears added a single run in the bottom of the fourth, taking a 3-2 lead. Uran would triple in the right-center gap with one out. With Uran at third, Bryan tried a squeeze play, but the Rams defense caught Uran heading bat to third on the missed bunt for the second out. Cole Carlin would double with two outs and score on a double off the bat of Jake Arnold.
The Rams tied the game at 3-3 with a single tally in the top of the fifth. Avery Moser walked to start the inning. Oeynolds would ground out, advancing Mosser to second with one out. Parker Hancock’s third double plated Moser with the tying run. Bryan starter Quinn Green was able to retire the final two Rams to get out of the game.
The game would remain tied until the Golden Bears plated the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on the Bukowski game-winning double.
Tinora falls to 16-4-1. The Rams are currently looking for an opponent for a Monday game.
Burchfield would work four innings for the Rams; Ferrell came in and took the loss after hurling three innings.
Quinn Green went the distance and got the win for Bryan.
Bryan improves to 13-9. The Golden Bears will host Southfield Saturday.
