Tinora 8 Hicksville 2

Tinora’s Alec Schaublin did his best impersonation of Superman. The sophomore righty did everything but serve popcorn at Grube Field on a windy Thursday at Tinora High School.

A five run second inning was enough for the Rams as they defeated the Aces of Hicksville, 8-2.

Kayden Radzik would nail a bases clearing double in the bottom of the second to put a cap on the five run inning.

The man of the hour would step to the plate in the bottom of the third. Schaublin would take an Aaron Klima 3-2 pitch deep over the left center field wall, for a solo homerun, giving the Rams a 6-0 lead after three innings.

On the hill, Alec Schaublin was in complete control. Schaublin allowed two unearned runs in the top of the fifth as Hicksville cut the Tinora lead to 6-2. Brent Langham would score on a ground out, giving Hicksville their first run of the game. Brody Balser would then double, scoring Parker Bassett, cutting the Tinora lead to 6-2 in the fifth.

Schaublin would come to the plate in the bottom of the fifth. With Klima still on the mound for the Aces, Schablin would take Klima deep again, this time over the centerfield fence for his second solo homerun, giving the Rams a 7-2 lead after five innings.

Tinora added their final run in the bottom of the sixth, as Grady Gustwiller would score on a Connor Wolfrum sacrifice fly.

Hicksville would mount a rally in the top of the seventh, but again, Schaublin put out the fire, giving him his fourth win on the season. Alec would pitch 7 strong innings, allowing 2 unearned runs, striking out seven, walking just one.
