OTTOVILLE: Tinora sophomore Grady Stark threw his second straight complete game of the season as the Tinora Rams baseball team scored 17 runs on 10 hits Thursday night against the Big Green from Ottoville. Parker Hancock and Doug Hattemer collected three RBI each as the visiting Rams rolled to a 17-2 non-conference win on the road.

The Rams didn’t waste any time getting on the board, collecting a single tally at the top of the first. Leadoff hitter Logan Stein singled to center to start the game. Stein would come around to score on an RBI single from Parker Hancock.

The Tinora lead grew to 4-0 in the top of the second. Kolten Snyder started the inning with a single to left. Snyder came around to score on an Avery Moser bunt. A throwing error allowed Moser to get to second and Snyder to score on the same play. After a walk to Logan Stein off Ottoville starter Damian Lawhord, Ryan Mills tripled to deep right. Mills plated both Moser and Stein for the 4-0 Tinora lead.

The Big Green tallied a single run in the bottom of the second on a Tinora throwing error, allowing Eli Hoersen to score.

The Rams got the run back at the top of the fourth inning. Ryan Mills would walk to start the inning and score on a sac fly off the bat of Parker Hancock. Tinora led 5-1 heading to the bottom of the fourth.

Tinora took control with a five-run fifth inning, leading 10-1. Avrey Moser singled to start the frame, followed by a walk to Stein. A walk to Mills loaded the bases for Owen Reynolds. Reynolds drew a walk and collected an RBI for a 6-1 Rams lead. Parker Hancock reached via a hit by pitch, also collecting an RBI. Owen Ferrell was hit by a pitch for the fourth time in less than a week, earning another RBI and an 8-1 Rams advantage. Snyder walked for another RBI. A balk from Ottoville reliever Christopher Moening gave the Rams a 10-1 lead into the bottom of the fifth.

Tinora added a single run in the top of the sixth on a Logan Stein RBI single, scoring Kaiden Massengale, who reached on an Ottoville error.

Ottoville added a single run in the bottom of the sixth on a Rams error. Scoring was Grady Leach. Tinora led 11-2 after six.

The Rams collected six runs in the top of the seventh to secure a 17-2 win. Doug Hattemer’s bases-clearing triple plated Garrett Sheets, Owen Ferrell, and Allan Burchfield for a 14-2 Rams lead. A Stein RBI groundout scored Hattemer from third, making it 15-2. Massengale scored run 16 after Parker Hancock was hit with the bases loaded. Jared Neff tallied the final run of the game on a Burchfield RBI sac fly.

Grady started and went the distance, collecting his second win of the season for the Rams.

Tinora improves to 11-3-1. Tinora will host Ottawa Glandorf on Friday from Grube Field at Tinora High School.

The Big Green from Ottoville falls to 1-11. The Big Green will travel to Fort Jennings on Saturday.
