372 days ago, Tinora’s Aiden Rittenhouse would go down with an injury vs. the Hicksville aces that would sideline him for the remainder of his junior season.
Fast-forward to nearly a year later, vs the same Aces, Rittenhouse would set a career-high in points with 29 as well as helping the Rams set a season-high in points with 71 with a 71-50 win over Hicksville.
The Rams would break out the throwback uniforms as they welcomed in the visiting Hicksville Aces in a Green Meadows Conference contest.
Hicksville’s Landon Turnbull gave the Aces a quick 2-0 advantage on a drive and score, this would be followed by a Braxztyn Heisler bucket that gave Hicksville a 4-0 lead with just two minutes gone in the initial quarter.
Tinora’s Kris Lymanstall would ask for a timeout with 5:55 on the clock. After the timeout, this would be the only lead of the game for the Aces.
Owen Ackerman’s drive and score and Aiden Rittenhouse’s three-pointer put Tinora on top for good at 5-4 with 5:10 on the first quarter clock.
Rittenhouse would explode for nine first-quarter points as the Rams lead the Aces after one quarter 23-11.
The second quarter would see the Rams lead extend to as many as 16 at 29-13 on a Josh Leib bucket with 4:55 on the second quarter clock.
An Adam Spycalla three increased the lead to 18 at 32-14 with 4:05 in the second quarter.
The Aces would battle back, cutting the Rams lead down to nine in the closing minutes of the initial half, however, Tinora would take a 34-22 lead to the half.
Rittenhouse led Tinora with 11 in the half, while the Aces were led by Brayden Slattery with seven.
The third quarter saw more Tinora offense, as the Rams would put up 16 points in the third. Auden Rittenhouse would get revved up, pouring in 11 points in the third. The Aces Garrett Turnbull would throw in seven in the quarter for Hicksville.
The fourth quarter would see the Aces hanging tough, Hicksville would not go away, again cutting the Rams lead to 52-39 on a Turnbull bucket, his 15th point.
The Rams would finally start to pull away midway through the final stanza, Tinora’s Connor Welling would have a steal and score, putting the Rams up 61-42 with 4:50 on the final quarter’s clock. Welling would have 10 points and eight rebounds on the night.
Rittenhouse would hit his 29th point on a left baseline jumper, putting Tinora up 66-42 at the 2:55 mark.
The reserves for both teams would take the floor for the final few minutes, and Tinora would come away with a 71-50 win.

Tinora improves to 6-9, 3-1 in conference play. The Rams will host the state-ranked Archbold Bluestreaks on Saturday.
