The Tinora Lady Rams jumped out to a 21-0 lead over the visiting Royals of Elmwood Saturday afternoon, en route to a 66-36 win.
Nova Okuley of Tinora dropped 12 points in the initial quarter, as her teammate Eowyn Blanchard chipped in with eight first quarter points as Tinora led after the first eight minutes of the non-conference game, 24-10.
Elmwood’s first points of the game came at the 2:55 mark on two free throws by Brynn Laugherty. Elmwood closed the initial quarter on a 10-3 run.
The Royals would play much better in the second quarter, limiting the Lady Rams to nine points in the second quarter. The Royals would dump in eight points and trail 33-18 at the half.
Tinora was led at the half by Nova Okuley with 12 points, the Royals were led by Molly Barringer and her eight markers.
The third quarter saw Elmwood stay within striking distance, closing the gap to 33-21 early third quarter, but were unable to get the lead under 10 at the end of the quarter. Tinora led 47-31 through three quarters of action.
Addison Lee with five points and Karli Okuley seven in the second half for Tinora.
The final quarter saw the Lady Rams outscore Elmwood 19-5 and eventually pull away for a 66-36 win. Christina Meyer with five quick points in the final few minutes for Tinora.
Elmwood’s McKenzie Laird had a great second half for the Royals as she put up nine points.
The 66 points by the Lady Rams was a new season high.
