For the second straight season, the Tinora Rams started their season at 0-3. And, for the second straight season, the Rams and the Hicksville Aces matched up to start the 2025 Green Meadows Conference season.

A packed house at Tinora saw a fantastic evening of events. Biddy Cheerleaders were on hand, Alumni band members performed, and two paragliders came through as the national anthem played, Charlie Stuckey and Tom Layne.

Tinora junior quarterback Owen Ferrell, who started his first game a season ago against the Aces, threw for 217 yards and 3 scores as the Rams knocked off the Aces 48-6 Friday Night from Justin F Coressel Stadium.

Hicksville drew first blood as Cross Zeedyk broke through the line, blocking a Tinora punt. Zeedyk busted into the endzone for a 2-yard TD with 6:06 in the first quarter, giving the Aces an early 6-0 lead, the XP was missed.

The Rams bounced back as Cooper Replogle knocked the door down with a 10-yard scamper, the Parker Hancock XP gave Tinora a 7-6 advantage with 1:40 left in the initial quarter.

On the next Hicksville possession, Tinora LB Josh Lieb stepped in front of a Zane Smith pass, taking it back 31 yards for a defensive score, and a Tinora 13-6 lead, Hancock’s XP increased the Rams lead to 14-6 with :46 seconds left in the first quarter.

Dylan Schauffele hauled in his first of two TD passes from Owen Ferrell, the first from 6 yards out as Tinora held a 21-6 lead after the Hancock XP, 3:35 remained in the initial half.

On the next Tinora series, Schauffele snagged a 70 yard pass from teammate Ferrell. The Schauffele score and Hancock XP increased Tinora’s lead to 28-6 with 1:43 remaining in the second stanza.

Owen Reynolds hauled in Ferrell’s third TD strike on the night, this from 20 yards away, the score by Reynolds would gibe the Rams a 35-6 lead after another Hancock XP, 9:18 remained in the third quarter.

Special teams took center stage with 6:32 in the third as Koby Bumb broke through, blocking a Aces punt, scooping it up off the turf at Tinora High School, and taking it in for a 15 yard score, the XP by Hancock increased the Rams lead to 42-6.

With the running clock most of the second half, Tinora’s younger players were able to see some playing time as Zayden Ort scampered 6 yards for a Tinora score and a 48-6 lead. The Reynolds XP was no good with 3;339 left in the final period.

Tinora was able to pick up their first win of the season, a 48-6 victory over the Aces of Hicksville.
