For the seventh straight season on the volleyball court, the Tinora Lady Rams and the visiting Fairview Apaches battled it out to see who would take the lead in the GMC standings.

Tuesday night from Tinora, a great crowd saw two of the better teams in the area, each needing a win to stay atop the conference, although still early in the season.

Set one was a battle between the two teams, the Lady Rams grabbed the initial set, 25-17 to take a 1-0 set advantage.

Set two was another battle as we have seen throughout the years. Tinora came away with a thrilling 25-23 win to take a 2-0 set lead.

Even though leading 2-0 as they headed to the third set, the Lady Rams were very aware that Fairview could make a comeback. The Lady Rams never let that happen as Tinora took the third set 25-17, grabbing the match 3-0.

Fairview drops to 7-2, 1-1 in the GMC. The Apaches will host Swanton Thursday.

Tinora improves to 8-1, and 2-0 in the GMC. The Lady Rams will travel to Evergreen on Thursday, before hosting Ottawa Hills and Bluffton on Saturday morning.

The Higbea Embroidery Player of the Game went to Paige Gamby. Congratulations, Paige!
