ANTWERP: The Tinora Rams kept their GMC title hopes alive as they traveled to Antwerp and came back home with a 10-0 shutout win. Senior righty Allan Burchfield improved to 4-0 on the season as he threw a two-hit shutout, and fellow senior Avery Moser collected two hits and two RBI for the victorious Rams on Monday.

Antwerp honored its two seniors, CJ Eaton and Jack Carter, before the game.

Tinora struck for a run in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead. Jared Neff started the rally with a one-out walk. Avery Moser followed with another walk from Antwerp starter Luke Parrett. Both Neff and Moser advanced on stolen bases, and Neff came in to score on a Lucas Stein RBI groundout, giving Tinora a 1-0 lead after two innings.

Tinora added another run in the top of the third. Owen Reynolds led off with a single. He stole second with one out and then scored on a throwing error by Parrett, making it 2-0 Rams after three innings.

With Rams starter Allan Burchfield holding Antwerp scoreless through three innings, the Tinora bats looked to extend their lead.

The Rams’ lead grew to 4-0 in the top of the fourth. Tinora sent seven to the plate, starting with a walk to Kolten Snyder. Avery Moser singled with one out, advancing Snyder to second. A two-out walk to Ryan Mills loaded the bases, bringing Reynolds to the plate. Reynolds reached on an infield throwing error by Antwerp, which allowed Snyder and Moser to score, pushing the Tinora lead to 4-0 after the fourth.

Tinora put the game away with a six-run top of the fifth inning, sending 10 hitters to the plate against Antwerp reliever CJ Eaton.
The first three Tinora hitters reached via walk: Burchfield, Ferrell, and Snyder. Burchfield and Ferrell then scored on Avery Moser’s second hit of the game, making it 6-0 Rams. Snyder scored on an Antwerp outfield error for a 7-0 Tinora lead.

A bases-loaded walk to Reynolds gave him an RBI, and an 8-0 Rams lead. Parker Hancock’s single would plate two more, scoring were Stein and Mills for a 1-0 lead.

Burchfield closed out Antwerp in the bottom of the fifth. Antwerp’s CJ Eaton singled to left and advanced to third on a Tinora infield error, but Burchfield retired the final two Antwerp hitters to preserve the 10-0 Tinora win.

Antwerp’s regular season ends with a 1-8 record. Anterpt will play Stryker in the OHSAA tournament.

Tinora improves to 14-3. The Rams will host Wauseon on Tuesday.
