The visiting Wayne Trace Raiders broke open a close game with a 17-0 run to start the second half, outscoring the host Rams 20-4 in the third quarter, for a huge 63-38 Green Meadows Conference win Friday night.

The first quarter saw both teams race up and down the court at Tinora High School as the Raiders took a 17-12 lead after the first stanza. Tanner Laukhuf bucketed five quick points for the Raiders, while teammate Lance Maenle added six of his own.

The Second quarter saw the Raiders lead by as many as 12, 29-17. Wayne Trace’s Kyle Stoller started to take over as he scored seven of his game-high 17 points in the quarter as the Raiders took a 29-20 lead to the half. Josh Lieb’s six points in the quarter kept the Rams close.

In the key third quarter, the Raider press stymied the Tinora offense, leading to a 17-0 run over the first seven minutes. The Rams finally broke the drought with a Jarod Neff basket and free throw with 1:05 remaining. Wayne Trace led 49-24 after three, including a Blake Noggle deep three-pointer at the buzzer. Kyle Stoller added another six markers in the quarter for the Raiders.

The fourth quarter saw both teams empty the bench, with junior varsity players playing most of the final quarter, as the Raiders stayed in the hunt for the GMC with a convincing 63-28 win.
