Senior day, a day that very senior athlete never thinks will come as they grow up through elementary, then High School, and boom, one day you come to the field, and you realize your days in a uniform are numbered.

Enter Senior Night 2024 for the Lady Rams five member senior class, Kayleigh Lucas, Mickey Starkey, Tegan Norden, Tanae Smith, & Scylea Zolman.

Not only was it Senior Night, the Lady Rams long time rival Fairview Apaches were in town, and these two teams have battled throughout the decade on the softball diamond for the top spot in the GMC.

The Lady Rams came out a blazing, plating six runs in the first. Highlighted was an absolute blast off the bat of Senior Scylea Zolman, Zolman hit a moonshot grand slam homerun to centerfield to put the Lady Rams ahead 4-0. Next, Madison Spangler would reach via hit by pitch and score on Christine Meyer’s two run homerun to left field. Tinora led the GMC match, 6-0 after one inning.

Tinora pushed across five more runs in the bottom of the second inning to lead Fairview 11-0. Trynity Koerber started the inning with a walk, Tegan Norden followed with a one out single. Paige Gamby would reach on a fielders choice to load the bases a second time in as many innings.

With two out, Scylea Zolman was intentionally walked with the bases loaded to score Korber from third to give the Lady Rams a 7-0 lead. Madison Spangler would follow with a grand slam, the Lady Rams second in as many innings, to take a commanding 11-0 lead.

The lone Fairview run would come on a Sydney Merritt solo homer in the top of the third, it cut the Tinora lead to 11-1 after three. The Merritt hit was the only hit Zolman would allow on the night, as Zolman improved to 14-0 in the circle on the season with the win.

The Lady Rams move to 16-3, 6-0 in the GMC. Tinora travels to Van Buren on Friday, then to Swanton on Saturday.

Fairview drops to 8-9, 2-3 in league play.
