Owen Ferrell came in for the Tinora Rams in relief and threw three and one-third innings of shutout ball, allowing just two hits, while striking out six Bombers before the rains halted the game in the top of the seventh inning.

Tinora jumped on top for a 2-0 lead after one inning. Owen Ferrell singles, stole second base, and scored on Parker Hancock’s RBI double. Hancock would score the Rams second run on a batted ball by Allan Burchfield that resulted in an Edon error. Tinora led 2-0 through one inning.

Edon closed the gap to 2-1 on a single run in the top of the second inning. Corbin Christman doubled, stole third base, and scored on a wild pitch.

The Rams added two more runs in the bottom of the second to take a 4-1 advantage. Logan Stein led off the inning with a walk against Edon starter Korbin Olds, stole second base, and scored on an Edon infield error for a 3-1 lead. Ayden Moser, who previously walked, stole second base, scored on another Bomber error, and the host Rams led 4-1 after two.

Tinora started Doug Hattemer, who pitched solidly through the first two innings, but lost his control in the top of the third. Edon would send eight to the plate as the Rams would use three pitchers as the Bombers closed the gap to 4-3. Laner Brant singled, followed by a walk to Brady Hand. Ryan Neff would come in relief for Hattemer for the Rams.

Neff also had trouble finding the plate, walking the second Edon run, scoring Brandt. Hand came around to score on a Rams infield error and a 4-3 deficit after three. Ferrell would come in and register the final out, leaving the bases loaded.

The score would remain 4-3 until the bottom of the sixth inning. The Tinora bats would strike, right before the lightning came through, for four runs on three hits of Bombers relief pitcher Lane Brant.

Jared Neff started the inning with a hit by pitch. Neff stole second and came around to score on a Bombers infield error off the bat of Burchfield. Burchfield advanced to second on an outfield error on the same play. Tinora led 5-3. Owen Ferrell stepped up and singled home Mills for a 6-3 lead.

Ferrell would steal second, advance to third on a wild pitch, and score on an Owen Reynolds double for a 7-3 Tinora lead. The final run of the contest came on a Parker Hancock RBI single, scoring Reynolds.

Edon’s Kadin Stanz started the Edon top of the seventh with a single. Then the dark clouds and lightning rolled in. With rain imminent and a 30-minute lightning delay on deck, the game was called at approximately 7:30 pm.
