Senior Kadyn Radzik, a University of Findlay commit, had a game he’s not going to soon forget on Tuesday. Radzik collected two hits, knocked in four and more importantly, came in for a one pitch save as the Tinora Rams held on by a string, and defeated the visiting Archbold Bluestreaks, 8-7.

Leading comfortably 8-2 heading into the top of the seventh, Archbold sent 10 batters to the plate, scoring five runs on three hits to trim the Rams lead to 8-7. The ‘Streaks had the tying run at third and the go-ahead run at second with two out when Radzik was summoned from his shortstop position to try to secure the win.

Archbold’s Anthony Williams swung at the first pitch by Radzik, smashing a screaming line drive into right field. Fortunately Tinora, Rams right fielder Trenton Delarber was right there as he reached up and snagged the final out, a one-handed grab, to retire Williams and the Bluestreaks, preserving the win for Mason McQuillin and the save for Kadyn Radzik.

Tinora jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead off Archbold starter Jayden Seiler in the bottom of the first, as a triple by Hunter Bostelman plated Radzik and Alec Schaublin, giving the Rams a 2-0 advantage. Bostelman would come around to score on a McQuillin RBI single.

Archbold would score an unearned run in the top of the second inning as Brian Burrowes would single and come around to score on a passed ball, Tinora led 3-1 after two innings.

Tinora added a single run in the bottom of the second to grab a 4-1 lead. Ayden Moser singled, moved to third on a two base throwing error, and came around to score on a Radzik sacrifice fly.

The Tinora lead grew to 6-1 in the bottom of the fourth. Trenton Delarber would walk, and score on a Radzik double to deep left.

Mason McQuillin would work the first five innings for the Rams, allowing just three hits and two runs, one unearned run.

Archbold added a single run in the top of the sixth. After a Jayden Seiler single, Brian Burrowes would nail a double to deep center, scoring Seiler, Archbold trailed 6-2 after five and one half innings.

Tinora seemingly put the game away with a two run bottom of the sixth to take an 8-2 lead. Adam Spychala would draw a one out walk, followed by a Delarber single to put Ram runners on first and second. Spychala cored on an Archbold outfield error to give the Rams a 7-2 lead. The man of the hour, Kadyn Radzik would again come through with another RBI hit, scoring Delarber to increase the Tinora lead to 8-2.

The exciting top of the seventh saw Tinora use three pitchers, Parker Hancock, BJ Morlock, and finally, Radzik to finally limit the damage and come away with an 8-7 win. The key hit in the inning was another Brian Burrowes hit, this time a bases clearing triple.

With the win, the Rams improve to 12-4. Tinora is back at home Wednesday vs. Fairview in a GMC game.

Archbold falls to 8-5. The Bluestreaks will play at Liberty Center on Thursday.
