The Lady Rams of Tinora and the Lady Archers of Antwerp tipped off their regular season and conference finale on Thursday night at Tinora High School. Tinora entered at 12-9, 4-2 in the GMC and the Lady Archers entered at 10-11, 3-3 in conference play.

Before the opening tip, Lady Ram Emma Bailey with a perfect rendition in the singing of the National Anthem for the crowd at Tinora High School.

Addison Lee started things off with a left corner three, giving the Lady Rams a 3-0 lead. Little did anyone know this was just the start of a thrilling first eight minutes. Lee would finish with six first quarter points. Tinora’s Julia Durfey would also bucket six points on two threes in the opening quarter.

Antwerp’s Caroline Rohrs was just getting started on the night. Rohrs would explode for 12 first quarter points for the Lady Archers.

The Lady Rams would see their lead extend to as much as 19-10 with just over two minutes in the opener. Tinora would lead after the initial quarter, however, 19-14.

The second quarter was not as fluid as the opening stanza. Rohrs was just to five points in the quarter by the Lady Rams defense, while the Lady Rams were paced by Karli Okuley who also netted five points in the second quarter.

Antwerp went on a 13-0 run to grab a 23-19 lead with just over three minutes on the second quarter clock.
The Lady Rams would rally and would take a 25-23 lead to the half.

Rohrs lead all scorers with 17 at the half, Karli Okuley, Durfey and Lee led Tinora with 6 each. The Tinora defense limited the Lady Archers leading scorer, Aewyn McMichael, to just four points.

The third quarter would see three Lady Rams collect their third personal foul, meanwhile Tinora treaded water and escape with a 38-34 lead over Antwerp. Rohrs would bucket seven more points, pushing her total to 25 for the game.

The fourth quarter would see the Lady Rams increase their lead to 41-34 with three minutes on the clock.
But the Lady Archers would rally down the stretch.

Both McMichael and Rohrs were now scoring for Anwerp, and they finally got within one with a McMichael three, cutting the Lady Rams lead to 43-42 with just over one minute left in the fourth quarter.

Antwerp’s Caroline Rohrs would tie the game at 45-45 when she converted a three point play with a bucket and a made free throw with 30 seconds in regulation.

Tinora would settle for the final shot in regulation, but a deep three by Nova Okuley would not go, to OT both teams went.

The Lady Rams dominated the OT period. Tinora would take the lead for good as Karli Okuley would hit a deep three from the left wing, Tinora led 48-45. Eowyn Blanchard would hit two free throws for the Lady Rams, giving them a 51-45 advantage with 2:25 in the OT period.

Antwerp would close the gap to 51-48 with 1:30 on the OT clock. Karli Okuley would hit tow free throws and come up with a key steal with 25 seconds on the clock. The Lady Rams would outscore Antwerp in the OT session 10-4 and end the regular season with a 55-49 win in front of the home crowd.

Rohrs would foul out in the OT period, ending her night with 28 points.

Antwerp closes out their regular season at 11-11, 3-4 in the GMC. Antwerp will take on Edon on 2/21 in the Sectional opener.

Tinora improves to 13-9, 5-2 in the GMC. The Lady Rams will host the Sectional Final on 2/24 vs. the winner of Delta vs Eastwood.

The Higbea Embroidery Player of the Game went to Lady Rams senior, Karli Okuley. Karli set a season high in points with 14 and again came up clutch in the OT period.
