PERRYSBURG: The Tinora Rams suffered their first loss of the season on the road at the hands of the Perrysburg Yellow jackets at Jim Leyland Field in Perrysburg.
Perrysburg would score four unearned runs in the bottom of the third inning to grab an early 4-0 lead over the visiting Rams.
The Rams bats awoke in the top of the fourth as they would plate three runs to cut the deficit to 4-3. Alec Schaublin would supply an RBI single, scoring Kadyn Radzik for Tinora’s first run. After a Hunter Bostelman double, Adam Spychala would walk to load the bases.
Connor Wolfrum would follow with an RBI single, scoring Schaublin, Perrysburg’s lead was cut to 4-2. Bostelman would score on a fielders choice off the bat of Mason McQuillin, the Rams battled back to trail by just one 4-3 after four innings of play.
Tinora would tie the Yellow jackets at 4-4 in the top of the fifth on a Kadyn Radzik’s single to center, scoring Trenton Delarber who reached earlier via a single.
Perrysburg would break the 4-4 tie in the bottom of the fifth as the Yellow jackets would again score another unearned run off Schaublin, grabbing a 5-4 lead as Trent Bezek would cause havoc on the base paths. Bezek would steal and score on a Tinora error, putting Perrysburg on top 5-4 after fie innings of play.
The Rama had a change in the final inning, putting runners on first and second with just one out. Perrysburg Aaron Banks however shut the door on the Tinora bats, retiring the final two Rams. Banks would pick up the save in the Yellow jackets 5-4 win.
Tinora drops to 2-1 and will host Hilltop on Saturday at 11 am.
Perrysburg improves to 2-0 and will travel to take on Ottawa Hills on Friday.
