Tinora saw their eight game winning streak snapped as the visiting Patrick Henry Patriots used a four run fifth inning and a fantastic relief performance by Houston Miranda as they defeated Tinora 6-3 Friday at Grube Field at Tinora High School.

Tinora jumped out of the gates quickly in the bottom of the first as they would grab a 2-0 lead on a two out, two RBI single off the bat of senior BJ Morlock, scoring on the play were Ayden Moser and Kadyn Radzik. The Rams lead 2-0 after one inning, and Patriots starter Cal Schoeder would only pitch the initial inning.

Landon Johnson would come in and work two innings of one hit ball for the Patriots, holding the Tinora bats to just a single, while striking out two.

The Patriots would finally get to Tinora started Connor Wolfrum in the top of the fourth as they would get two on the board to tie the game at 2-2. Mason Jardine would single with one out, and Patriot teammate Lane Biederstedt would reach on a Tinora infield error to get things rolling for Patrick Henry.

Grant Schwab would lay down the perfect bunt, scoring Jardine from third for the Patriots first run of the game. Lane Jackson would follow with an RBI single, plating Biederstedt tying the game at 2-2.

The host Rams would break the tie with a single run in the bottom of the fourth inning off the third Patrick Henry pitcher to work, Houston Miranda. Adam Spychala would single with one out and come around to score on an RBI single by Kadyn Radzik, the Rams grabbed a 3-2 lead after four.

After allowing a one out single to Cal Schroeder, Connor Wolfrum would see his day end after pitching four solid innings, allowing two unearned runs, coming on in relief of Wilfrum was freshman Owen Ferrell.

Landon Johnson would reach on an infield single off the glove of Ferrell, Nash Meyer would single, scoring Johnson to tie the game at 3-3. Jardine would reach safely on another Rams infield error, allowing Landon Johnson to score, giving the Patriots a 4-3 advantage. Jardine and Meyer came around to score on a two RBI single by Biederstedt, Patrick Henry led 6-3 after sending nine to the plate in the top of the fifth inning.

After giving up a single run in the bottom of the fourth, Houston Miranda settled in a controlled the next three innings, not allowing a hit and retiring the final 11 Ram hitters he facted.

The Patriots would leave with a 6-3 win over the red hot Rams.

The Rams drop to 13-5 and will travel to Findlay Saturday for a 1 pm start.

Patrick Henry improves to 11-6 and will play Napoleon at 10 am in the Henry County Classic Saturday.
