Fairview’s freshman Nevaeh Heisler came out firing, bucketing eight first-quarter points on the way to a game-high 19 points as the visiting Fairview Apaches improved to 4-0 in the GMC with a 49-28 win at rival Tinora on Thursday night.

From the opening minutes of play, the goal of the Fairview defense was to eliminate Tinora’s leading scorer, Madison Spangler, and coach Zeedkye’s Apaches did just that, limiting Spangler to just three points in the loss.

The initial eight minutes saw the Apaches and Lady Rams play well. Tinora’s Ella Homier matched Heisler point for point, also pouring in eight initial quarter points as the visiting Apaches led 17-11 after the first quarter.

The Fairview press and full court press in the second stanza limited the Lady Rams’ offense to just five points as the Apaches went to the half with a 31-16 advantage. Heisler led all scorers with 12 first-half points.

The third quarter saw a stingy Apache defense again limit the Tinora scoring, this time just two third-quarter points as the Fairview lead grew to 44-18 after three quarters.

Fairview went on to a 49-28 win, but, Tinora outscored Fairview 10-5 in the final stanza.
