Day 2 of the OHSAA Track & Field at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at Ohio State University in Columbus took place on another hot, steamy day.
Two of the best runners in the long history of the Rams track program were front and center today as Lauren Sattler and Jaxen Durfey took their day in the sun.
Sattler was competing in the 1600m and the 3200m while Durfery was competing in the 1600m and the 800m races.
Lauren started her morning with a strong showing in the 1600m, finishing in third place with a 5:02:88.
In her next race, the 3200m, Lauren finished in fifth place with a 11:13:15. What a great day for Lauren, and she has her entire senior season upcoming.
Jaxen’s day started in the 1600m where he finished in fourth place with a 4:19:00.
In the 800m, things didn’t go the way Jaxen wanted, but still a fantastic showing on the day overall.
Jaxen will go down as one of the best runners in the history of the program, congratulations, and what a great track & cross-country career in the green and white for Jaxen.
Best of luck at the U of Findlay in the Fall, Jaxen!
Lauren would score 20 team points for the Rams, putting them 20 of the 68 teams.
The boys as a team would end up finishing 4 of 73 teams. What a fantastic finish by the boys.
