The Tinora Rams qualifiers in Track & Field headed to Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at Ohio State University in Columbus to take part in Day 1 of the OHSAA State events.
On the girls side, Lauren Sattler will run on Saturday in the 1600m & 3200m.
The boys side sent a gagle of talent. Owen Ackerman, high jump & long jump, Jaxen Durfey in the 800m & 1600m, the 4x400m relay team of Cole Anders, Gain Eckert, Dustin Hass, & Ryan Steingass. Also qualifying was the 4x800m relay team of Cole Anders, Logan Coy, Jaxen Durfey, & Paul Westrick.
To start the day in Columbus, the Tinora boys 4×800 relay team of Jaxen Durfey, Cole Anders, Paul Westrick & Logan Coy finished third with a time of 8:00.53 in the state in Division III. Great job, gentleman.
The boys 4×400 didn’t get the performance they wanted and finished 14th at State.

Ackerman set a personal record with this 6-6 jump, and the junior became Tinora’s first State Champion in the boys Division III high jump event. Amazing job, Owen.
Owen’s day was not complete, however, he also qualified in the Long Jump.
Ackerman added to his fantastic day with another medal, this time finishing third in the Division III boys long jump with a 21-10.25. What a day, Owen!
After Day 1, the boys as a team are currently in 2nd place overall.
