Tinora Sophomore pitcher Zoe Billings limited the visiting Tigers to just two runs on three hits while striking out five as the Tinora Lady Rams opened their 2025 season with an early Saturday morning contest vs the visiting Holgate Tigers.

Billings, replacing All-Ohio pitcher Scylea Zolman, had a strong outing in the circle and at the plate as the Lady Rams defeated Holgate 12-2 from Tinora.

Tinora senior Zoe Roesti, limited to just 5 at bats last season due to injury, went 3-3 with a double, three runs scored, and knocked in three to lead the Lady Rams attack who had 15 hits in just four innings.

The Lady Rams tallied eight runs in the bottom of the second inning as they sent 11 hitters to the plate. Highlighted in the inning was Zoe Billings two-run homerun to centerfield for a 4-0 Tinora lead. Karly Carpenter had two doubles in the inning with two RBI. The Lady Rams took a 9-0 advantage after two innings of play.

The visiting Tigers, a former GMC opponent, tallied two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Alicia Escamilla doubled to start the frame and scored on groundout by Lyndee Palte to cut the Lady Rams lead to 9-1. The tigers added a second run as senior Markee Wilhelm scored on a Tinora error, the Lady Rams led 9-2 after four innings.

Tinora added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Koerber started the rally with a double and scored teammate KC Knapp to take a 10-2 advantage. A Roesti single plated Koerber for a 11-2 lead followed by a Karly Carpenter double, scoring Roesti for a 12 -2 lead.

Zoe Billings retired the Tigers in the top of the fifth as the Lady Rams started the 2025 campaign with a 12-2 win over the Holgate Tigers.
