With a slim 3-0 advantage as they headed to the top of the seventh, Tinora would send nine men to bat, plating five runs on five hits. Ironically, three of the five Rams hits didn’t leave the infield.
Everything started in the seventh with an Alec Schaublin bloop single to left-center, followed by a walk and four straight hits. One had to be in attendance to describe what actually transpired over the next 20 minutes. After all the dust settled, Tinora grabbed a 10-0 lead. Highlighted was Mason McQullin’s second RBI double of the game.
Tinora took an early 1-0 lead with an RBI double by McQuillin in the top of the second inning, scoring was Hunter Bostelman who singled to start the inning.
The Rams pushed the lead to 2-0 in the top of the third. Ayden Moser would walk, steal a base, and come around to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Alec Schaublin.
Tinora took a 3-0 lead in the top of the sixth as Connor Wolfrum would score. Wolfrum, pinch running for Parker Hancock, who previously walked, would score on a wild pitch to BJ Morlock.
With Rams starter Alec Schaublin in control, Tinora took the 3-0 lead to the top of the seventh when they would score the five runs, putting the game away, 8-0.
The only trouble for Schaublin came in the bottom of the second, as the Aces would load the bases with one out. Schaublin would strike out the final two batters, putting out the Hicksville fire to maintain the early 1-0 lead for the Rams.
The hard luck loser for Hicksville was Austin Sanders. Sanders pitched well, allowing just one earned run in 5 2/3 innings.
Official final train count at Hicksville – THREE.
Tinora improves to 7-4, 2-1 in the GMC. The Rams will host Stryker on Friday.
The Aces fall to 2-7, 0-3 in the GMC. Hicksville will travel to Edgerton Friday for a makeup game.
