ST. HENRY – Mason McQuillin pitched 5 innings of fantastic baseball for the Tinora Rams Friday night as the Rams went on the road and defeated St. Henry, 7-0.
McQuillin struck out five while not allowing a run while picking up his first win of the Season. Hunter Bostelman worked two innings of perfect relief following McQuillin, for Tinora. Bostelman did not allow a hit and struck out two.
Tinora jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with two runs in the top of the second. Hunter Bostelman led off the Rams second inning with a walk and came around to score on an Adam Spychala fieldders choice to plate the game’s first run. BJ Morlock followed with double to left, scoring Parker Hancock who had previously walked.
Tinora would explode for four runs in the top of the fifth to take a 6-0 lead over the host Redskins. Tinora’s Trenton Delarber would reach with a one-out walk to start the inning for the Rams. Ayden Moser would follow with a single, and Delarber would hustle over to third. Delarber would score on a Kadyn Radzik fielder choise, putting the Rams on top 3-0 putting Moser at third and two outs.
Alez Schaublin would double to plate Radzlik, giving the Rams a 4-0 lead as Tinora still batted in the top of the fifth with those two outs. Hunter Bostelman would single, moving Schaublin to third. Parker Hancock would single to center, scoring Schaublin for a 5-0 Rams advantage. The final Tinora run in the inning would come as Mason McQuillin would reach on an infield error, scoring was Bostelman to push the score to 6-0 Tinora.
The Rams final run came in the top of the seventh as Hunter Bostelman led off the inning with a double. Bostelman would eventually move around the bases and score from third on a passed ball. Tinora would take a 7-0 lead into the bottom of the seventh.
Bostelman would shut down St. Henry, striking out two Redskins to close the game out.
Tinora improves to 5-3 and will play Bellefontaine at St. Henry on Saturday at 12 pm
St. Henry drops to 3-5 and will play Bellefontaine at 2 pm.
