BLOOMDALE: Logan Stein picked up the win on Saturday, while Kolten Snyder and Allan Burchfield each picked up two hits and each with an RBI as the Rams picked up their third win of the young season at Elmwood. Stein would throw six innings in the win, allowing two runs while striking out nine Royals.
Tinora started the game by scoring three runs in the top of the first inning against Elmwood pitcher Carter Goetz. Ryan Mills began with a walk and then scored from third base to put the Rams ahead 1-0. Owen Ferrell also walked and scored on an infield hit by Parker Hancock. A throwing error by Elmwood allowed Ferrell to score and increase the Rams’ lead to 2-0. Hancock scored on another error, giving Tinora a 3-0 lead after one inning.
Elmwood scored a single run in the bottom of the first as Gabe Schaefer scored on a Nico Allen single.
Tinora’s lead grew to 4-1 as Jared Neff would score on an Owen Reynolds sac fly in the top of the second inning.
The host Royals added another single run in the bottom of the second to get to within 4-2. Carter Goetz scored on a Ryken Zeigler groundout.
The Rams scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning, making their lead 6-2. Parker Hancock scored on a double hit by Allan Burchfield, bringing the score to 5-2. Kolten Snyder’s double then allowed Burchfield to score, extending Tinora’s lead to 6-2 after five innings.
Elmwood scored its last run in the bottom of the seventh against Tinora relief pitcher Owen Reynolds. Ta’Mareon Wiseman scored because of a fielding mistake, and the run was not counted as earned after a hit by Adam Abke.
Tinora improves to 3-0-1 with the win.
The Rams have a busy week ahead with games against Edon on Monday, at Paulding on Tuesday, back home on Thursday versus Wayne Trace, and at Findlay on Saturday.
Elmwood falls 4-4-1. The Royals will travel to Ada on Monday.
