The Tinora Rams freshman team captured the 2024 Green Meadows Conference Championship with a 43-29 win over the Antwerp Archers on Monday evening from Tinora High School.
The freshman Rams, coached by Isaac Shelton, got off to an early lead and carried the initial lead to a 9-5 advantage after the first quarter.
The Rams defence held the Archers to just two points in the second quarter as they would bucket 11 points, taking a 20-9 lead to the half.
Owen Ferrell led the Rams with eight at the intermission, while the Archers were led by Luke Parrett with three.
Tinora would start to pull away in the third quarter, taking a 32-16 lead through three quarters of action.
Ryder Backhaus, Koby Bumb and Jared Neff led the charge in the second half for the Rams.
The Archers Weston Rhonehouse led the comeback attempt with 12 points.
The final quarter saw the Rams hold off the Archers late rally for a 43-29 win.
The Tinora freshman cut down the net to celebrate their team Championship, congratulations to all!
