SHERWOOD – Two of the hottest teams in the area met up in the DIV III OHSAAA Sectional Finals at Fairview High School on Thursday Night.
Both the Tinora Rams, the #4 seed, and the Liberty Center Tigers, the #3 seed put their season on the line in the second game Thursday night. The winner would face Fairview, who defeated Archbold 3-1 in a hard-fought game 1.
Tinora, winners of 11 straight, and 14 of 15, faced off against the higher seeded Liberty Center Tigers. The Tigers brought with them a five-game winning streak and a 19-3 record. Ironically, one of those Tiger wins came against the Lady Rams way back on August 31, a 3-1 regular season win for Liberty Center over Tinora.
Set one, after a slow start for Tinora, went to the Lady Rams 25-17 to grab a 1-0 match advantage.
Set two, a thriller. The Tigers led most of the set, grabbing a 20-18 lead. The Lady Rams responded by winning the next five points, grabbing the set 25-22. Tinora led 2-0.
Set three, another great set. This one saw the Lady Rams hold the lead most of the set before coming away with a 25-21 win, taking the match 3-0,
With the win, the Lady Rams will align again with rival Fairview.
The Lady Rams and Fairview will meet in the District Finals on Monday, 10/23 at Otsego High School on Monday for a 6 pm first serve.
The Apaches swept the Lady Rams 3-0 in their match earlier this season way back on September 5, the first game of the GMC season. (25-23, 25-15, 25-23)

Liberty Center sees their greet season come to an end at 19-4.
