DEFIANCE – The Tinora Lady Rams volleyball team looked to stay perfect on Tuesday evening. They brought their 23-0 record into the OHSAAA District Semi-Finals and took on conference opponent, the Hicksville Aces. Tinora defeated Hicksville on September 3, taking three sets from the Aces.

As during the regular season, the Lady Rams wasted little time setting the tone. They took the opening set 25-17 for an early 1-0 advantage.

Set two was more of the same from the undefeated Lady Rams. Tinora took a commanding 2-0 set advantage with a 25-12 win.

Tinora looked to close out the Aces in the third set. The Lady Rams succeeded, winning the set 25-15. They took the set and the match 3-0 to stay perfect on the season.

For the Lady Rams, this is the program’s fourth district finals appearance in seven years.

In an exhilarating district semifinal, second-seeded Ottawa Hills triumphed with a solid three-set win, scoring 25-18, 25-15, and 25-22. They showcased an impressive comeback in the final set against the spirited Patriots.

With this victory, Tinora advances to an outstanding 24-0 record. They will face Ottawa Hills on Thursday at 6 PM from Defiance High School. The Lady Rams are not just winning; they are dominating.

Tinora defeated Ottawa Hills in the regular season, 25-10, 25-16, on Saturday, September 19.

Hicksville ends their season at 10-14, with a 1-6 mark in the GMC. We applaud the senior Aces for their dedication and efforts. Josie Smith, Lydia VanScoder, Elise Baldwin, and Tesslyn Reid played in their final game.
