HICKSVILLE – The Tinora Lady Rams headed to the “Red Zone” at Hicksville High School to take on the Lady Aces as area teams wrapped up their regular season Thursday evening.
Tinora had an outside shot at a share of the GMC title as Ayersville headed to Fairview to take on the Apaches. A Pilot win over Fairview, combined with a Lady Rams win would put all three teams tied atop the GMC standings.
Tinora brought with them their season best nine game winning streak, and 16-5 record to take on the Aces who were entering the match with a 12-9 overall record and a 2-4 conference mark.
The Lady Rams wasted little time getting started, taking the initial set, 25-16 to grab a 1-0 set advantage.
Set two again saw the Lady Rams take the set 25-16, taking a 2-0 set lead.
The third set saw the Lady Rams waste little time, taking the set 25-8 and winning the match 3-0.

The Tinora Lady Rams end their regular season playing as well as anyone in the area. Tinora extended their winning streak to 10 matches with the win.
Fairview defeated Ayersville in a five set thriller, taking the ’23 GMC title with a 7-0 record.


The Lady Rams conclude their regular season with a 17-5 record and finish the Green Meadows Conference season at 6-1, the only conference blemish was to Fairview.
Tinora starts their postseason play on Monday from Tinora as the play host to Northview in the Sectional opener.
Hicksville finishes their regular season at 12-1, 2-5 in GMC play.
The Aces will have a bye in the first round and will paly the winner of the Edgerton vs Edon contest. The Aces will play on Oct 19.
