EDGERTON – As the Tinora Lady Rams volleyball team loaded the bus and headed to Edgerton in the regular season and GMC finale, each team member had two goals. Goal one, a GMC championship, and goal two, just the second perfect season in the 50 seasons of Tinora volleyball history.
Tinora didn’t mess around as they took the initial set as they jumped out to a early 11-5 advantage, stretching it to 16-9 before going on a 10-5 run to end the set.
Tinora took the initial set, 25-14 to grab a early 1-0 advantage.
Edgerton tied the second set at 7-7. After a Tinora run, and a timeout Edgerton, the Lady Rams led 13-10. Tinora stretched the lead out to 17-10, before putting away the second set. 25-15 to take a 2-0 advantage.
Set three was tied early at 4-4 before the Bulldogs took an early 5-4 lead. The Lady Rams rallied for a 12-7 advantage before an timeout Edgerton. After the timeout, the Lady Rams continued their run, scoring eight straigh for a 20-8 lead. Ella Schaublin scored 18 straight points in that third set run via her serve.
The Lady Rams brought home the perfect regular season on a Paige Gamby kill, the kill closed out the set and match, 25-7 Tinora.
The Lady Rams volleyball team finished the regular season perfect at 22-0, and brought home the GMC championship, finishing at 7-0, their frst in three years.
Tinora starts the OHSAA tournament on Oct 16 as they will host Toledo Christian at 6 pm.
Edgerton ends the regular season at 17-4, 5-2 in the GMC. Edgerton will begin the tournament trail on October 17 as they will host the winner of Fayette/Hilltop.
