With a logjam atop the GMC standing coming into the evening, the Rams and Aces needed a solid performance by each to stay in the hunt for a shot at 2025 conference crown.

Instead, what coach Shock of Hicksville and coach Renollet of Tinora saw was a first and second inning that saw 22 total runs cross the plate, and both starters exit the game.

Hicksville saw their first three batters reach off three straight singles from Rams starter Mason McQuillin. Before the fans were firmly in their seats, the Aces took a 3-0 lead on five hits after the top of the first inning.

Not to be out done, the Tinora offense would send 11 hitters to the dish, scoring seven runs on seven hits to grab a 7-3 lead after one. Highlighted in the inning for Tinora was Ayden Moser’s two singles. The Rams scored six runs with two outs, aided by two huge errors by Hicksville.

The Aces would knock out Tinora starter Mason McQuillin in the top of the second. Hicksville would cut the Tinora lead down to 7-5 on a RBI triple by Parker Bassett, scoring Braedon Dix. Bassett would score on a wild pitch. Logan Stein would come on in relief of McQuillin for Tinora.

The Tinora bats would really come to life in the bottom of the second. Tinora would send 15 to the plate, scoring 11 runs on seven hits. Hicksville would commit two big errors in this inning as well.

Highlighted in the big second inning was Hunter Bostelman with two singles and two runs scored, Adam Spychalla also reached two times, scoring two runs. Owen Ferrell chipped in with two RBI and a single in his two plate appearances in the inning. Tinora would exit the second inning with a 18-5 lead.

Hicksville starter Eli Lawrence would be relieved by Brant Langham in the second inning.

The Rams would add an additional two runs in the bottom of the fourth as Dominik Mills would single and score on another RBI by Owen Ferrell for a 19-5 lead. Tinora capped it’s scoring with a SAC fly from Avery Moser, scoring Ferrell for a 20-5 lead after four.

The Aces would add a single tally in the top of the fifth as Bronson Graber would single. Brenden Metz would pinch run and score on a Langham triple, Tinora lead 20-6.

Allan Burchfield would pitch the final inning for the Rams.

Logan Stein pitched three solid innings of relief for the Rams, limiting the Hicksville offense to just three hits, no runs, while striking out eight, Stein did not issue a walk.

Tinora improves to 11-4, 5-1 in the GMC. The Rams can clinch a tie for the GMC crown Thursday as they host the Ayersville Pilots.

Hicksville drops to 5-6, 2-3 in the GMC. The Aces will host Fairview Thursday.

A bit of a shakeup atop the GMC standings as Paulding defeated Edgerton, and Wayne Trace defeated Fairview.
