KALIDA – The Tinora Lady Rams ended their three-game losing streak as they went to Kalida and pounded out 13 hits and 14 runs en route to a 14-0 shutout win over the Wildcats.

After winning four straight games last week, the Lady Rams hit a rough patch this week, losing to Continental, Paulding, and Wayne Trace.

Tinora’s Zoe Billings shut down the Wildcats, allowing five hits in the shutout.

Billings started the Tinora scoring in the top of the first with an RBI double, scoring Madison Spangler, who had previously walked.

Tinora added another single run at the top of the second. Lexi Rios tripled and scored on a Karli Carpenter RBI groundout for a 2-0 lead.

Madison Spangler hit the first of her two home runs on the day, scoring Lexi Baldwin, who walked. Billings singled and scored on a Lexi Rios RBI single for a 5-0 lead in the third.

Spangler’s second homer of the day, her 11th on the season, scored Lexi Baldwin, who singled, for a 7-0 Lady Rams lead in the fourth.

The Lady Rams put the game away with a seven-run fifth inning. Lixi Rios singled to start the uprising, Karli Carpenter followed with a walk. Rios came around to score on an RBI single by Nahla Fanary for an 8-0 lead. Haley Squires reached on an error and scored on the play, with Carpenter for a 9-0 lead.

A Christina Meyer single plated Flanary and Squires for an 11-0 Lady Rams lead in the fifth. Meyer would score on an RBI single by Baldwin, and Tinora led 12-0. The final runs in the game came on a Savannah Schroeder triple, scoring Baldwin and Bussing for a 14-0 lead.

Billings shut out the Wildcats through five, and the 10-run rule ended the game.

Tinora improves to 5-8. The Lady Rams will host Parkway on Saturday, weather permitting, in a DH.

Kalida falls to 2-9. The Wildcats will travel to Arlington on Saturday for a DH.
