PAULDING: Third time was a charm as the Tinora Rams and Paulding Panthers were finally able to get their GMC game in, despite the overcast conditions.

What a game it was for Tinora senior righty Connor Wolfrum. Wolfrum dominated the regular season finale for both teams on the mound and at the plate. Wolfrum improved to 4-1 on the season as he pitched a 7 inning shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out seven, while walking just two.

Connor Wolfrum’s performance was fantastic at the plate was well as he would go 3-3 with four RBI, also scoring two runs for the Ram attack that belted out 12 runs on 10 hits off six different Panthers pitchers.

As the light rain started to fall, Wolfrum got things started for Tinora with a two out, two RBI double in the first off Panther starter Patrick Paholak. Scoring, were teammates Hunter Bostelman and Mason McQuillin as Tinora grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning.

The light rains stopped after two innings of play.

Wolfrum put the Rams ahead 3-0 win another RBI, this time an RBI single in the top of the fourth, scoring was Adam Spychala who singled to start the inning. Kadyn Radzik also supplied an RBI single, scoring Wolfrum for a 4-0 Tinora lead. The Rams added two more in the fourth as Trenton Delarber and Ayden Moser scored to give the Rams a 6-0 lead after three.

Paulding’s first hit of the game came in the bottom of the fourth, a one out single by Grayson Harder.

The Rams attack supplied a single run in the top of the fifth, an RBI single by Wolfrum put Tinora ahead 7-0 after five.

Tinora added another single run in the top of the sixth to take an 8-0 advantage. Ayden Moser would start the inning with a walk and move around the bases on two wind pitches and score on a throwing error by Panthers catcher Easton Lehman.

Tinora would put the game away with a four run seventh inning to take a 12-0 lead. BJ Morlock had an RBI double in the inning, scoring Parker Hancock. Alec Schaublin’s RBI single, scoring Moser, put the Rams on top 12-0.

Easton Lehman’s single with two outs in the seventh was just the second hit allowed by Wolfrum as he closed out the 12-0 shutout win.

Tinora closes out the regular season at 19-6, 6-1 in the GMC. Tinora now awaits the winner of the Otsego/Paulding Sectional winner, tomorrow. The winner with play at Tinora on Friday, a 5 pm start.

Paulding ends the regular season at 12-10, 4-3 in the GMC.

The Player of the Game went to Connor Wolfrum for his dominating performance. What a game!
