The Tinora Rams baseball team knew what they needed to do Thursday heading into the River Rivalry vs the Pilots from Ayersville, win and at worst, take home a share of the 2025 GMC baseball title.
From the first pitch at Grube Field, Tinora senior hurler Hunter Bostelman set the tone for the rest of the game. Bostelman set down the first 10 Pilot hitters before allowing his first hit in the top of the fourth inning, a single by Ayersville’s Owen Lloyd.
Bostelman would scatter just two hits in his five innings of work, improving to 4-1 as his complete game shutout allowed the Rams clinch a share of the the Green Meadows Conference Championship. Bostelman struck out four Pilots while walking just one in the clincher.
Tinora leadoff hitter Ayden Moser, who has ignited the Tinora offense this season, got things going with a leadoff walk of Ayersville starter Owen Lloyd. Moser would steal second base, and come around to score on a two out double off the bat of Mason McQuillin. Adam Spychala, who also walked, also scored on the McQuillin double for a 2-0 Tinora lead.
The Rams added a third run in the first as Owen Ferrell’s double scored McQuillin for a 3-0 lead.
The Ram offense continued to impress, scoring four more runs in the bottom of the second inning to grab a 7-0 lead. Tinora’s Alec Schaublin’s single would plate Trenton Delarber and Owen Reynolds for a 5-0 advantage.
Ayersville starter Owen Loyd would be replaced by Kolton Dockery after Reynolds scored in the second inning.
The lead would grow to 6-0 when Ayden Moser, who walked for the second time, scored on a wild pitch, increasing the Tinora lead to 6-0. The Rams added their final run of the inning on a Adam Spychala sacrifice fly to center, scoring Schaublin for a 7-0 lead after two innings.
The Rams added two additional runs of Dockery in the bottom of the third to take a 9-0 lead. Parker Hancock, who doubled, would score on a RBI off the bat of Ayden Moser for a 8-0 lead. The ninth run for Tinora came on a RBI triple from Schaublin, scoring Delarber.
Tinora ended their scoring in the bottom of the fourth with three more runs for a 12-0 advantage. Owen Ferrell’s second RBI of the game scored Spychala for and a 10-0 Rams lead. Trenton Delarber’s team leading 20th RBI scored both Hancock and Reynolds for a 12-0 lead.
