The Lady Rams saw their two game winning streak snapped at the hands of the Swanton Bulldogs on Saturday, 11-8.

The Lady Rams got off to a quick start, scoring a solo run in the bottom of the first inning for a 1-0 lead. A Zoe Billings double scored Paige Gamby for an early Tinora lead.

The Lady Rams great defensive play on Friday night win vs Van Buren didn’t show up in the second inning as Tinora allowed eight unearned runs as the Bulldogs sent 12 batters to the plate, highlighted by a grand slam off the bat of Jordyn Ramizez. Tinora committed two big errors to prolong the inning, the Bulldogs took a 8-1 lead after two.

Tinora became it’s comeback attempt in the bottom of the third. Zoe Billings again doubled, scoring Paige Gamby, cutting the Swanton lead to 8-2. Zoe Roesti would follow with a two-run homer to center, trimming the Tinora deficit to 8-4.

The Lady Rams inched closer in the bottom of the firth. Christina Meyer would double, bringing Madison Spangler to the plate. the sophomore would launch an absolute blast, 30 feet over the left field fence for a two-run homer, cutting the Swanton lead to 8-6.

Swanton added two runs in the top of the sixth to extend their lead to 10-6. Lacey Shinaver would score on a wild pitch from Tinora starter Zoe Billings, increasing the Bulldogs lead to 9-6. Swanton’s Jordyn Ramirez’s double would score Alexa Faber for a 10-6 advantage.

Swanton added an insurance run in the top of the seventh to take a 11-6 lead on a RBI single by Beyla Remer, scoring Gabie Orner.

The Lady Rams would not go down without swinging. Tinora scored two runs in the bottom of the final inning to cut the Swanton lead to 11-8. Tinora’s Savannah Schroeder would single in Gamby and Koerber, cutting the deficit to three.. The Lady Rams would bring the tying run to the plate with one out, however Alexa Faber would strike out the final two batters to end the game, 11-8.

Beyla Remer would start for Swanton, pitching 3 2/3 innings in picking up the win, her 11th of the season.

The tough luck loss went to Zoe Billings, Billings pitched well, allowing just three earned runs of the 11 allowed.

Swanton improves to 12-13. The Bulldogs will host Evergreen next Wednesday in the DIV V tournament opener.

Tinora drops to 9-11. The Lady Rams will host Defiance on Monday, travel to Hicksville Tuesday in the OHSAA tourney opener, and host Ayersville Wednesday in a GMC makeup game.
