The Tinora Rams cross country runners awoke to miserable weather conditions on Saturday morning, conditions that did not improve much if any throughout the GMC’s at Miller Park in Edgerton, Ohio.
This would be the final regular season meet for the Rams and area runners, as the GMC crown awaited the champions.
Lauren Sattler was on hand to defend her title, a title she has won the past three seasons.
Sattler closed out her GMC career with another first place showing, finishing atop the girls race with a time of 18:43, just under a minute better than the second place runner.
Finishing right behind Sattler was teammate India Okuly, Okuly finished in third spot. Cheyenne Myers would finish fifth for the Rams, who brought home second place in the GMC’s on a wet, rainy, chilly Saturday.
All girls results are posted below:
The boys were back to try to regain the GMC title that eluded them last season. Paul Westrick, who finished second in 2022, was back to help get the title back.
Westrick did just that. Paul finished in the top spot, bringing home the individual trophy. Right behind him was Logan Coy. Coy finished in third spot for the morning. Nolan Rittenhouse finished in fifth, Noah Meyer in seventh, and right behind him in eighth was Jared Neff.
The Rams boys did capture the 2023 team trophy with a fantastic team performance on Saturday.
Great job, gentleman.
