The perennial power Eastwood Eagles travel to Tinora High School on an overcast, blustery day as the Tinora Lady Rams opened their 2026 softball season against the 3-0 Eagles.

Eastwood got on the board first with an unearned run in the top of the first as Sophia Rankin reached on an error with two outs, and came around to score on another Lady Rams error, this off the bat of Addy Loomis.

The visiting Eagles struck for four runs in the top of the second inning to take a 5-0 advantage. Eastwood pounded out five hits in the inning, adding in another Tinora error, for the 5-0 lead after two innings of play.

Eastwood put the game out of reach after plating six more runs in the top of the third for an 11-0 lead. The Eagles struck for four more hits as they sent nine hitters to the plate.

Tinora’s best chance to score came in the bottom of the fourth inning as they loaded the bases with two outs. However, Eastwood starter Kenzie Hady retired Tinora for the final out.

Eastwood plated their final run in the top of the fifth on an RBI by Maddie Hartman, Eastwood led 12-0.

Mackenzie Hady would get the win, improving to 3-0 this season. She would allow five hits while striking out 14 Lady Rams batters.

Hady has allowed just six hits in 19 innings. Hady has 42 strikeouts while walking just 1 in this early 2026 season.

Zoe Billings took the loss for Tinora as she allowed 14 hits, just 6 earned runs in five innings of work.

Tinora freshmen Alexia Rios and Taylor Spangler each collected their first varsity hit. Congratulations.

Eastwood improves to 4-0. The Eagles will travel to Ayersville on Saturday for a doubleheader.

Tinora falls to 0-1. The Lady Rams will travel to Continental on Friday and to Holgate on Saturday.
