Tinora XC teams compete at Districts

The Tinora Rams cross-country team and coach Jim Winseman headed to a familiar place to take part in the 2023 District cross-country meet, Leaders Farms in Napoleon, Ohio.

Tinora took part in a meet less than a month ago at the same venue.

In conditions much better than last week’s races, the boy’s race started the morning’s long events.

Paul Westrick brought home the Individual title for the Rams, Following Westrick was Rams Logan Coy, 6th, Jered Neff in 14th, Nolan Rittenhouse 15th, and Noah Meyer in 16th. Logan Baldridge, 36th, and Wesley Maxwell 38th also finished in the top 50.

Westrick was the runner-up in 2022, to then teammate Jaxen Durfey.

Those great finishes advanced the boys’ team into the Regions next Saturday morning at Tiffin.

Up next was the girls race at Leaders Farms.

Lauren Sattler brought home the 2023 individual award, the District Champion. Right behind her were teammates Cheyanne Meyers 6th, and India Okuley 8th. Erica Westrick, Addilyn Delarber, and Ava Steffel all finished in the top 60 among the field.

Sattler also was the 2022 District champion as well.

The girls, unfortunately as a team, will not advance to regionals, however Sattler, Meyers, and Okuly will advance as individuals next week in Tiffin,.

Results are below for the DI-III district boys and girls race at Leaders Farms.
The top 3 teams and the top 12 individuals not on a qualifying team earn regional spots.

Sattler also was the 2022 District champion as well.
