The Tinora Lady Rams hosted the Hicksville Aces in the regular and GMC season finale on Thursday night from Tinora High School. The Lady Rams brought in their 11-9 mark, 4-2 in the GMC, while the visiting Aces came in 6-16, 1-6 in conference play.

The opening quarter was full of offensive fireworks, as Tinora’s Eowyn Blanchard and Hicksville freshman Devony Mull matched each other shot for shot.

Blanchard’s 10 points came in only 4 minutes of play as she picked up her second foul in the middle of the opening quarter, she would not return until the third quarter.

Hicksville freshman Devony Mull knocked in 10 opening quarter points as the Rams would lead the Aces, 24-14 after the initial quarter. Fellow freshman teammate Jocelyn Baldwin bucketed four points in the quarter.

Nova Okuley would pick things up for the Tinora offense with Blanchard sidelined, Okuley would match Blanchard’s 10 opening half points as Tinora took a 38-18 halftime lead. Mull’s 12 led Hicksville at the break.

The third quarter would see the Lady Rams knock in 13 points, taking a 51-31 lead through three quarters.

Baldwin’s eight second half points led the Aces, she would finish with 12 points, while Mull’s 18 led Hicksville.

Julia Durfey of Tinora would score nine, and end the night guarding Hicksville’s Mull.

The final stanza would see the Aces cut the Tinora lead down to 14 before Tinora ran it back to 19, capping off the regular season finale with a 60-41 win.

Tatum Creps would throw in eight points while being solid on the defensive end in the Lady Rams win.

Hicksville ends the regular season at 6-16, 1-6 in the GMC. The Aves will host Ayersville on Tuesday in the OHSAA Sectional.

Tinora improves to 12-9, 5-2 in the GMC> The Lady Rams will host Liberty Center on 2/15 in the tournament.
