DEFIANCE – The Tinora Lady Rams used an 18 point third quarter, and total 14 points from senior Nova Okuley for a 55-31 win over the Defiance Bulldogs in the opening round of the Defiance Physical Therapy Classic.

Despite the foul trouble through the first 16 mins, the Lady Rams battled and the Tinora bench was a huge asset in the win as the Lady Rams move on to play Archbold Tuesday night in the DTP Championship game.

As a few of the Lady Rams were saddled in foul trouble, sophomore Maddison Spangler stepped up an threw in nine points and added nine rebounds in the Tinora win. Amilia Coy also jumped off the bench for solid play for Tinora, adding four points.

Emma Bailey, Julie Durfey, and Tatum Creps played great defense in the Lady Rams victory.

Despite limited minutes, Eowyn Blanchard knocked in eight points on tow three pointers for Tinora.

Defiance’s Jamie Rollins caused havoc for the Tinora defense, putting several Rams in foul trouble while bucketing 8 points. Alexandra Fernandez was another problem for the Lady Rams as she gobbled up double digit rebounds, most on the offensive end.

Archbold defeated Ayersville 45-29 in the opening game.

Defiance scoring: Rowlinson 6, Hoehenberger 10, Rollins 8, Ramirez 1, Fernandez 4.

Tinora improves to 2-4 and will play Archbold tomorrow night at DHS in the championship at 7:30 pm

Defiance drops to 1-5 and will play Ayersville in the consolation game at 6 pm tomorrow.
