DEFIANCE: For the second consecutive year, the Lady Rams and the Bulldogs of Defiance met in the Defiance Physical Therapy Holiday Classic’s consolation game.

After a scoreless first 4 minutes for both teams, the Lady Rams got the scoring started with an Eowyn Blanchard three from the left corer that broke the scoring ice, giving the Lady Rams a 3-0. A Tinora lead that they never relinquished on their way to a 12-4 first quarter lead. Blanchard would wind up with seven of her 12 points in the initial quarter, and Defiance was led by Olivia Brenner and her four points.

The second quarter saw the Lady Rams offense start to get in rhythm as they bucketed 15 points in the quarter, Nova Okuley providing 6 points in the initial half, to give Tinora a 27-15 halftime lead.
Teams traded three points shots midway through the second period, with Defiance’s Jamie Rollins with a deep step back three and Tinora’s Amilia Coy and Addison Lee with threes for the Lady Rams.

The Bulldogs, who were plagued by foul trouble in the initial half, were led in scoring by Samantha Hoenberger with 5 points.

The Defiance Bulldogs would get a bit of flow to their offensive game as they would score 12 points in the third quarter, equaling the Lady Rams 12, Tinora would exit the third quarter with a 39-27 lead. Another quarter that saw both teams rack up numerous fouls, Tinora never seemed to get their feet grounded in the quarter due to the stop and start play.

The final stanza saw the Bulldogs chip away at the Tinora lead, eventually getting it down to 39-31, before the Lady Rams would again stretch it out to 12 points and an eventual 11 point victory over Defiance, 48-37.

Defiance would be the visiting team on their home floor due to the seeding and wore the road black uniforms, the Lady Rams were in the home whites.
