Tinora 55 Continental 36

CONTINENTAL – After the Lady Pirates Liv Logan nailed a three pointer from the left wing to give Continental a 21-19 over the Rams to start the third quarter, Tinora senior Liv Mueller said not so fast.

The lead for Continental was quick as Tinora’s Mueller drove the lane, scored and was fouled, giving the Lady Rams a 22-21 lead after a free throw with 6 mins remaining in the third. Mueller and the Lady Rams would never look back.

Tinora would outscore Continental 36-14 over the remainder of the contest, coming away with a 55-36 hard-earned win on the road over Continental.

The Lady Rams had things going their way right out of the gate, grabbing a 15-7 lead after the initial quarter.

For coach Thiel and the Lady Rams, the second quarter is one they would like to erase. After seeing things come easy in the first quarter, the Lady Pirates zone defense would give Tinora second quarter fits. Tinora would just score four points in the second, Continental would slice the Lady Rams lead to 19-16 heading to the half.

The third quarter was the Liv Mueller show. Liv would take over the game, as the Lady Rams would score 19 third quarter points, grabbing a 38-25 lead after three.

Tinora would dominate the final quarter, scoring 17 fourth quarter points, the Lady Pirates would score 11 points in the final quarter, Tinora would come away with a hard fought 55-36 victory.

The Tinora defense shut down Lady Pirated leading scored, Bryn Tegankamp in the second half, limiting her to 6 points, and just nine points overall. Liv Logan would lead the way for Continental with 12 points.

The Higbea Embroidery Player of the Game goes to Liv Mueller. Liv with a game high 18 points, 14 points in the second half.

With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 202. Tinora will take part in the Defiance Physical Therapy Classic from Defiance High School on Monday and Tuesday. Game one is Ayersville vs Tinora at 6 pm.
