Wednesday evening from Tinora High School, the Lady Rams volleyball team kicked off their 2024 postseason as they hosted the Toledo Christian Eagles.

Tinora, entering the postseason with a perfect 22-0 regular season, and representing the GMC as conference champions, welcomed in the 4-18 Eagles as the OHSAA District Quarterfinals opened.

The Lady Rams, last playing nearly a week ago, showed little signs of rust as they dominated the opening set. Tinora started with a 10-4 advantage before pushing it to 15-6, before taking the initial set, 25- 9 to grab a 1-0 set advantage.

Set two saw Toledo Christian grab an early 5-3 advantage before the Lady Rams righted the ship and Tinora broke away. The Lady Rams evened the set at 5-5, then ran off nine straight points for a 9-6 advantage. Tinora increased their lead to 19-8 before closing out the second set 25-13. The Lady rams held a 2-0 advantage over the Eagles.

Set three was all Tinora. The Lady Rams jumped out to a 7-1 advantage before taking the third set and the match, 25-5.

Toledo Christian sees their season end at 4-19.

The Lady Rams, 23-0, advance to the District Semi-Finals at Defiance High School, Tinora will take Hicksville next Tuesday at 6 pm.

The Higbea Embroidery Player of the Game went to the GMC player of the Year, Paige Gamby. Great job, Paige.

Lady Rams seniors Aleena Ankney, Sophia Stark, Avery Morris, Kenzi Nagel, Kalie Snyder, Paige Sebring, and Zoe Roesti played in their final home game.
