JEWELL – Scylea Zolman stuck out 15 over 7 innings as the Rams improved to 1-0 with a thrilling 3-1 win over the Bowling Green Lady Bobcats.

Both teams had squandered several scoring opportunities over the first two innings.

Anna Frazier led off the Lady Ram season with a double, but was unable to score in the bottom of the first inning.

After getting their first two runners on to start the second inning, the Bobcats were unable to score as Zolman would strike out the side, getting Tinora out of the jam.

Bowling Green plates the first run of the game in the top of the third as Makenna Oates would single to score Kennedy Brown, giving the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.

Tinora would tie the game at 1-1 in their bottom half of the third. Anna Frazier single, steal second, and would score on a Zolman RBI single.

The game would remain tied at 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning. Zoe Roesti would first reach on a one out walk.
Maren Pittman would ground out to first, advancing Roesti to second with two outs. Anna Frazier would reach on an infield single to short, putting runners at first and third with two out. Frazier would steal her third base of the game, advancing to second.
Senior second baseman Logan McQuillin would break the tie as she would smash a grounder off the BG shortstop, scoring both Roesti and Frazier, giving the Lady rams a 3-1 lead.

The Tinora junior Zolman would retire the Bobcats in order in the top of the seventh to give the Lady Rams a season opening 3-1 win.

Tinora, 1-0, will play host to Holgate on Thursday, host Archbold on Friday, and host Patrick Henry on Saturday.
