Tinora used a nine run fourth inning en route to a five inning 15-1 win over the visiting ‘Locos from Montpelier.
Montpelier jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Kam Smith had an RBI single, scoring Landon Fackler to put the ‘Locos up early.
Tinora’s Korbin Casteel would shut down the locos after the initial run. Castell would pick up the win, going 5 innings, allowing 6 hits, striking out 5 Locos batters.
Tinora would answer with a run of their own in the bottom of the first. Ayden Moser would score on a Dalton Wolfrum RBI single, tying the game at 1-1 after one inning.
The Rams would send nine to bat in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on five hits of Montpelier starter, Trent Thorp.
After a Kadyn Radzik RBI single, Wolfrum again would be in the middle of the Rams rally. This time stealing two bases along with a two RBI single, giving Tinora a 6-1 lead after two innings.
Tinora would put the game away with a nine run fourth inning. Kam Smith of Montpelier came on in relief of the starter Thorp, the Tinora bats welcomed him rather rudely, sending 14 batters to the plate, scoring those nine runs on seven hits
Moser, Plassman, Bostelman, Gustwiller, and D Wolfrum with RBI’s in the inning.
Alec Shaublin capped the scoring, lacing a two RBI triple to the wall in left, putting the Rams on top 15-1 after four.
Casteel would retire the Locos in order in the fifth, picking up his third win on the season.
Tinora improves to 9-3. The Rams will host Ayersville in a GMC game Tuesday.
Montpelier falls to 7-6. The ‘Locos will host North Central in a BBC showdown.
The Higbea Embroidery Player of the game went to Rams right fielder, Dalton Wolfrum. Wolfrum went 2-3, had 4 stolen bases, had 3 RBI. And his most impressive moment was in the field as he tracked down a liner in the right center gap that saved two runs. Congratulations, Dalton
