HOLGATE – On a chilly Saturday from Holgate, best suited for a football playoff game, the Tinora Rams baseball team opened their season with a road trip to take on the Tigers, a former conference opponent in the GMC.
With the wind gusting and the temps hovering around 35 degrees, Junior hurler Alec Shaublin worked the first four innings in the Rams win, striking out six Tiger batters, Schaublin did not walk anyone as he moves to 1-0 on the season.
The Rams bats scored 10 runs in the last two innings, breaking open a close game, Tinora led the host Tigers 3-0 through the first three innings.
Ayden Moser and Kadyn Radzik each picked up two hits in the win, while Hunter Bostelman added a double and two RBI for the Rams attack.
Dylan Boecker picked up the only hit of the game for Holgate, a first inning single.
The Rams improve to 1-0 and will host McComb at 5pm on Tuesday from Grube Field.
Holgate drops to 0-1, the Tigers will host the Archbold Bluestreaks on Tuesday.
