Tinora Lady Rams softball coach Denny Helberg submitted his retired a few weeks ago. In his only season as head coach of the Lady Rams Helberg guided the Lady Rams to a 14-7 overall record, and a 6-1 GMC record. The only conference loss was to the state champions Fairview Apaches. Helberg was a longtime assistant in the program. Best of luck in your future Coach Helberg!
The Lady Rams were knocked out of the OHSAA tournament in the Sectionals finals by Otsego, 10-0.
Taking over the program will be former assistant, Tony Fairchild. Fairchild is currently the Acme coach and had been an assistant coach for the lady Rams from 2012-2017 under former Lady Rams headman Garry Rodenberger.
Fairchild is a 1990 Tinora graduate and has been with the program since 2012 either in a spring or Acme summer ball capacity.
New coach, Tony Fairchild will have a promising returning roster. The Lady Rams graduated a class of five seniors, senior shortstop Tristen Norden, Libby Bumb, Ellie Manley, Haylie Lero, & Sara Neff.
Underclassman returning are Quinn Horn, Anna Frazier, Logan McQuillin, De’Vona Holmes, Paige Carpenter, Maren Pittman & freshman Scylea Zolman.
