PEMBERVILLE – The #11 seeded Tinora Rams jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead over the #6 seeded Eastwood Eagles in the Sectional opener for both teams on Tuesday night at Eastwood High School.

Eastwood would respond with a Drew Luidhardt three, tying the game at 4-4 with 3:00 on the opening quarter clock. The Eagles would take the lead on a Dayquan Oliver layup with 1:15 on the clock, the Eagles would never trail again and would hold the Rams to a season-low 33 points as Eastwood would Advance to the Sectional Finals with a 45-33 win over Tinora.

Eastwood would lead 11-7 after one as Drew Luidhard drained a three at the buzzer, Luidhardt would score eight points in the opening quarter.

Eastwood would hold the Rams offense to just four points in the second quarter as the Eagles would hold the Tinora leading scorer, Aiden Rittenhouse, to zero points in the opening 16 minutes. The host Eagles would take a 24-11 lead to the half.

The third quarter would see the Eagles tread water, taking a 32-20 lead after quarter’s end.

The Rams offense would finally start to click for a three-minute stretch as they cut a 16-point deficit down to nine midway through the fourth quarter. Rittenhouse would lead the Tinora comeback, scoring 17 points in the second half. Eastwood, however, would respond, and come away with a 45-32 win.

The Eastwood defense would limit Owen Ackerman and Adam Spychala to just five combined points.

Tinora sees their season end at 10-13, 5-2 in the GMC. A fantastic season, gentleman.

Eastwood moves to 14-9 and will play Liberty Center on Friday at LC.
