LIBERTY CENTER – The Liberty Center basketball team, playing its first game of the season, came out like a bunch of caged Tigers, dominating from start to finish as they defeated the Tinora Rams, 52-16.

Liberty Center hit five three-pointers in the opening quarter on the way to a 21-2 lead after the initial quarter.

The Tigers would hit three more three-pointers in the second quarter for a 36-5 halftime advantage.

Wes Wilhelm’s 10 points paced the Tigers in the opening half, Grant Lymanstall’s three led the Rams.

After a Tiger basket by Jack Badenhop to start the third quarter, the remaining game was played under a running clock. (An OHSAA rule since 2021, 35 or more points lead)

Tinora was led in scoring by Grant Lymanstall with 9 points, the host Tigers were led by Wes Wilhelm’s 14 points.

Liberty Center never trailed in the game.

TINORA 2-3-7-4 = 16
Liberty Center 21-15-8-8 = 52

JV Game: Tinora

Tinora drops to 4-4. The Rams will travel to Evergreen on Dec 27.

Liberty Center starts 1-0 and will host MVCD on Dec 23.
