Tinora Lady Rams sweep DH vs Allen East

On a sun filled Saturday late morning that spilled into the afternoon, the Tinora Lady Rams took on the Allen East Mustangs in a scheduled double-header.

Game one saw Logan McQuillin pick up five RBI’s. McQuillin singled, doubled and homed as she went 3-4 in the opener.
Zoe Roesti went 4-4 with an RBI for the Lady Rams, as Tinora collected 13 hits as a team in game one.

Tinora opened with a five run first inning on their way to an 8-0 shutout, McQuillin’s two RBI double put the Lady Rams up 2-0.

McQuillin ended all doubt of an Allen East comeback as she bombed a three run homerun in the sixth to grab an 8-0 lead.

Tinora’s Scylea Zolman went the distance to improve to 6-2 on the season. Zolman recorded 7 strikeouts and walked 3.

Game two was a back and forth contest. Allen East jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first, but the Lady Rams rallied with 2 of their own, Tinora trailed 3-2 after one.

Allen East would get another three runs in the third to take a 6-2 advantage.

Tinora scored three in the bottom of the third as Paige Gamby’s two RBI single would tie it at 6-6.

The Mustangs added two in the fourth to go back ahead, 8-6.
Savana Brooks would bomb a three rum homerun, putting Allen East up 8-6. Brooks recently ties two OHSAA records this week, as she hit two home runs in the same inning, as well as three for the game.

Tinora would erupt for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to go ahead 10-8. Another Gamby hit would tie the game before Paige Carpenter would break the tie, putting Tinora up 10-8 after four.

Again, Allen East’s Savana Brooks would tie the game at 10-10 in the sixth with a two RBI double.

The Game would stay tied 10-10 until the bottom of the eight.

Logan McQuillin would lead off with a double. Lady Rams freshman Paige Gamby would line a hit down the left field line to score McQuillin, giving the Rams an 11-10 win.

Maren Pittman started for Tinora, Zolman came in the game in relief to pick up the win, she in now 7-2 on the season.

With the sweep, Tinora improved to 8-4 on the season. The Lady rams will host Hilltop on Monday, travel to Edgerton on Tuesday, host Hicksville on Thursday, host Evergreen Friday, and host Leipsic Saturday for another DH.
