Lady Rams suffer tough defeat to Clay Lady Eagles

After suffering a rough loss last season on the road at Clay HS at the hands of the Lady Eagles in a tough five set loss, the Tinora Lady Rams looked to avenge the 2020 tough loss on a Monday night non-league contest from Tinora High School..

The Div I Clay Lady Eagles headed into Tinora with a very deceiving 3-5 record, hoping to break a three game losing streak. The Lady Rams were looking to improve on their 4-2 record, coming off a big win vs Antwerp a week ago. Tinora was 3-1 at home heading into the contest.

Things again started out well for the Lady Rams of Tinora, as they generally do in the first set. Tinora took set one, 25-20 after trailing much of the initial set.

The second set was intense, and very competitive as well. The Lady Rams again fell behind, made a run late before eventually falling 26-24 to even the match, 1-1.

Another great back and fourth third set went to the Clay Eagles, 25-21. Clay took a 2-1 set lead into set four.

Just as the previous three sets went, it saw the Lady Rams fall behind, made a run but were unable to get over the hump, losing a tough forth set, 25-22.

With the win, the Clay Eagles improve to 4-5, breaking their three game losing streak.

Tinora suffered another tough defeat, dropping the Lady Rams to 4-3.

Tinora is back at it Tuesday evening at home, back in the GMC conference, hosting the Lady Raiders of Wayne Trace.

Both freshman & JV contests were cancelled tonight.
