PATRICK HENRY – The Tinora Lady Rams traveled over to Patrick Henry on a chilly Saturday morning with the hopes to get first year head coach Tony Fairchild his first career win.
What the Lady Rams got was a no-hitter from sophomore Scylea Zolman, an absolute rocket off the bat of DeVona Holmes, and that first win for the new Lady Rams coach as the Lady Rams defeated Patrick Henry, 13-0 in five innings.
Tinora jumped out early, scoring 5 runs in the first, two more in the second, then five more in the third.
The highlight of the second inning was a tape measure two run homerun by Tinora junior left fielder Devona Holmes. Holmes sent the pitch over the centerfield scoreboard, scoring Anna Frazier, giving the Lady rams a 7-0 at the time.
Zolman was on cruise control the entire contest, allowing just three baserunners via base on balls. Tinora’s Zolman did not allow a hit in her five innings of work while striking out 14 Lady Patriots.
Offensively, Logan McCQuillin, Quinn Horn, and Devona Holmes paced the Tinora attack, each with three hits each. Horn with 4 RBI, Holmes with 3
With the win, the Lady Rams improve to 1-1. Tinora will host Defiance on Monday, a 5 pm start. We will cover the game on Tinora Rams Live.
Patrick Henry falls to 0-2.
