The Tinora Lady Rams started their OHSAA playoff journey with a 6-0 shutout at home over the Swanton Bulldogs. The Lady Rams used a five-run first inning, and the right arm and bat of junior Skylea Zolman as they move on to the District Semifinals on Tuesday.
Tinora started the bottom of the first with a lead-off single by Anna Fraser, and the Lady Rams were off and running. After Frazer stole second base, she came in to score on Logan McQuillin’s single, putting the Lady Rams up 1-0.
Paige Gamby also singled in the first, putting Gamby and McQuillin on first and second base. McQuillin came around to score as Paige Carpenter singled to give Tinora a 2-0 lead.
The big blast in the inning came as Scylea Zolman would hammer a three-run homerun deep over the fence in left field, giving the Lady Rams a 5-0 lead after one inning of play.
Tinora added a single run in the bottom of the fifth. A run was generated by Anna Frazer. Frazer led off with a single, stole second base, and scored on a Maren Pittman fielders choice ground out, Tinora led 6-0 after five innings.
Zolman was in complete control over her seven innings of work. Zolman would throw a complete game shutout, firing seven innings, but did not allow a run. She allowed only three hits while striking out 11 Swanton batters, walking just two. Zolman picked the win, moving to 13-4 on the season, lowering her ERA to .76

With the win, Tinora improves to 16-6. The Lady Rams will move to the District Semifinals on Wednesday, May 17. Tinora will take on the #1 seed, Oak Harbor. Tinora returns to the site of their 2022 District Championship.
